The highest-earning salons often have a package menu that fits on one A4 sheet.

1. More choice makes customers say "let me think about it"

You may think more options look more professional. But when customers walk in and see a dozen packages, their first reaction is: "Let me think about it."

More options mean slower decisions and fewer sales. When a customer says "let me think about it", she usually won't come back to buy.

2. Extra packages aren't assets. They're dead stock

Staff only know a few packages well. The rest just sit there, and they're dead stock, not assets.

They take up space, split the attention of staff and customers, and make your pricing look messy: this one RM880, that one RM980, another RM1,080. Even staff can't explain the difference.

The shorter the package menu, the faster customers decide.

3. Do this today: see what share comes from number four onwards

  1. Rank. Sort all packages by last month's sales.
  2. Add up. Total the sales from number four onwards and work out their share of all package sales.
  3. Decide. If it's under 20%, you've found your leak: these packages can be merged or removed, leaving room for the top three.

For example: last month packages brought in RM50,000 in total. The top three made RM42,000, and everything from number four onwards added up to just RM8,000, only 16%. Those packages took your effort, your staff's memory and space on your menu, yet brought in less than a fifth of package sales.

Conclusion: put your energy into the top three

Three packages that staff know well and customers can tell apart sell far better than ten vague ones.

CCS Plus ranks every package by monthly sales volume and revenue, so you can see at a glance what share comes from number four onwards. Book a 30-minute Demo and we'll show you using your real data.
