How many packages does your salon have? If it's more than eight, hear me out.
1. Staff can't remember them all, so they only push the two or three they know
With too many packages, staff simply can't memorise them. In the end each person pushes only the two or three she knows best, and the rest hang on the wall as decoration.
You think you have a dozen products on sale. In reality, only the few your staff can actually explain are selling.
2. More packages don't give customers choice. They give staff pressure
Every extra package means one more price, one more set of contents and one more pitch to remember. If staff can't remember it, they won't dare to offer it. If they don't dare, they only mention the cheapest one.
The cheapest is easiest to explain, customers agree fastest, and staff feel safest. So the package you sell most is always the one with the thinnest margin.
Your premium packages aren't failing to sell. They're never even mentioned.
3. Do this today: count your packages
- List them. Write down every package in your salon and count the total.
- Find the top three. Check which three sold best last month.
- Check the rest. How many did each of the others sell last month? The ones that barely sold are dragging you down.
Merge or remove the packages that drag you down, so staff have the energy to learn the rest well and your premium packages finally get mentioned.
Conclusion: fewer is what sells
More packages don't make you more professional. The packages that really make money are the ones staff know well and customers understand.
In CCS Plus, you can pull a report showing how many of each package sold last month and which staff member sold them, without flipping through bills. Want to see your package ranking? Book a 30-minute Demo and we'll show you using your real situation.
